Property Registration Cost Calculator

Stamp duty, registration fee and the smaller costs of registering a purchase in Lucknow.

Registering a property purchase costs more than stamp duty and the registration fee. There is usually an advocate or document-writer's fee, charges for stamp paper or e-stamping and a few smaller items. This calculator adds the amounts you enter to the stamp duty and registration fee so you can see the whole bill, and what share of the price it is.

How it is calculated

Total registration cost = stamp duty (after any rebate) + registration fee + the other costs you enter. Stamp duty and the registration fee are worked out as in the stamp duty calculator, on the higher of the agreement value and the circle-rate value.

A worked example

On a ₹45 lakh purchase where the circle-rate value is lower, a male buyer pays ₹3,15,000 stamp duty and ₹45,000 registration fee. Add, say, ₹15,000 for the advocate and ₹5,000 for stamp-paper and document charges, and the total is ₹3,80,000.

The ₹15,000 and ₹5,000 are only illustrations: ask your advocate and the sub-registrar office for the actual figures.

Things to keep in mind

  • Only stamp duty and the registration fee come from the government rates. Every other line is a figure you enter.
  • This is an estimate. The sub-registrar office's calculation is final.
